Why does mouthwash matter?

Mouth Wash

Taking care of your mouth is a good first step to maintaining good overall health. Brushing and flossing help create healthy teeth and gums. Mouthwash is another important element in the oral care package. It does so many things to help you avoid developing common dental problems like gingivitis and cavities.

Why should you use mouthwash?

Removes food particles: Rinsing with mouthwash loosens food particles trapped between teeth and gums. It makes it easier to fully remove these particles while brushing and flossing.

Kills germs and bacteria: Brushing and flossing remove food particles and eliminate plaque from your teeth. This strengthens both your teeth and gums. Doing these things alone does not fully eliminate the germs and bacteria present in your mouth. Mouthwash kills germs and bacteria on contact, preventing them from multiplying and causing infections or diseases down the road.

Enhances fresh breath: Rinsing with mouthwash isn’t just good for your teeth and gums. It also makes your breath smell good. Fresh breath is so important in making a good first impression.

Mouthwash should form a part of your daily oral care routine. There are plenty of options available – both with alcohol and non-alcoholic. Consider using mouthwash if you aren’t doing so already. Your mouth will thank you with a beautiful smile and minty fresh breath.
